Val Ogden (Methodist minister in Dorking, and former Director of the Selly Oak Centre for Mission, Queens Foundation, Birmingham) Praise and sing with a mix of traditional and contemporary songs. - I am 90 this year and would like a chance to celebrate more than 65 years as Boy, Officer and Supporter of the Boy's Brigade. To this purpose I am inviting all ex members and friends of the 1st Penarth Company of the Boy's Brigade to a gathering and buffet lunch at Albert Road Methodist Church, Penarth on Sunday, 27th May at 10.30 am with the Rev. - In early September, Crossway will be celebrating its fiftieth anniversary. We will be providing fuller details of all the different events and services we plan to hold later. At this time, just book these dates in your diary. On both Friday 31st August and Saturday 1st September, you will be welcome to join us for an exhibition of documents and photographs, whilst on Sunday 2nd September, there will be celebratory services both morning and evening. - You'll want your church to be at its very best for the 2012 Games. That's why our Get Set training day is not to be missed. We are going UK-wide on Saturdays from 10.30am to 4.30pm with the choice of 11 highly practical workshops. Your church will get new ideas, strategies, skills and resources to help them well beyond 2012. This is for all in your church who are involved with: Children and youth Community engagement and outreach Evangelism and follow up Leadership and prayer Please help us get the word out by forwarding this email to everyone who could benefit from this strategic day. You'll find all the workshop subjects - and their content, speakers and dates here. And a flier to print and pass on is here. The full-day sessions are on Running Community Festivals, Using Sport to Impact Every Age-group and Being a Games Pastor. And electives are on Reaching Children and Youth, the Torch Relay and Your Community, Prayer, Using International Mission Teams, Mission Through the Paralympics and Games-related Social Justice.
